ELECTRICAL SAFETY
For employees working in or near areas where explosive atmospheres may occur and who require basic knowledge of explosion safety and ATEX. The training is also relevant for employees who may be exposed to explosion risks involving flammable gases, vapours, liquids or combustible dust.
Do you work in or near an environment where explosive atmospheres may occur? This basic training provides an understanding of explosion risks, potential ignition sources and the main preventive measures. You will become familiar with the ATEX directives and learn how to work safely in ATEX zones.
You will learn what an explosion is, which types of explosions can occur and how to identify explosion hazards and ignition sources. The course covers the ATEX 153 directive relating to workers and workplaces and the ATEX 114 directive relating to machinery and equipment. Explosion prevention, explosion protection and safe working practices in ATEX zones are also covered. Important documents such as the Explosion Protection Document, hazardous area classification documentation and ATEX work permits are explained.
